Love :)

Like everything else, every person has their own understanding of common terms such as good/ bad/ nice/ nasty.

I wanted to share my interpretation of one such word: love.

I have found that this interpretation helps me simplify the world around me tremendously.

I am able to understand my feelings much better.

I reject the definition that love is exclusive, I reject the definition that love is all consuming and I reject the definition that love is possessive.

Those could simply be uncontrolled manifestations of your love :)

I have found that love is simply the feeling to protect and nourish.

That’s it.

How you deal with this feeling gives flavour to your love.

It manifests in different forms based on what you want to protect and nourish.

Sometimes it is unconditional, you simply want to protect someone or something without expecting anything in return. Perhaps how a mother loves her baby.

Sometimes it is mutual, when you want to protect something you share with someone. Like to love playing in a team , love having coffee with your office friends

Sometimes it is dependent, where you love someone/ something because they want to/ help to keep you as you are. They help you grow as you are, uncurbed and wild :). For this reason you could love playing the guitar because it keeps you free, you could love writing because it keeps you creative, you could love someone because they like somethings in you.

Relationships evolve from love and take form based on who/ what you love.

If you love someone much older or younger, you might feel like they are a part of your family and you will want to be there for them.

If you love someone around your age, you might want to be their friend, their gang-member ;) .

If that friend is someone whom you can love a lot and forever, you might want to marry them :)

No matter what relationship your love takes, if you say you can love someone forever, it is to say, you will preserve and nourish what you like in them, forever. And if they love you back , you are immortal till that love lasts :)

Ofcourse if you want your love to last, you should first preserve and nourish yourself, so love yourself first :)

IMO, to be driven by love and keep your life surrounded by people, things and activities you love, is a fulfilling and nice way to live :)
